Situated in Edinburgh’s Stockbridge area, Doune Terrace Nursery caters for children from birth to 5 years. The Nursery required an extension to the property, with additional facilities to support the learning and childcare in the Nursery. Orocco began by underpinning the retaining wall to extend the property. The extension is cladded with VM Zinc and Golden Zinc frames around the windows, bringing a unique tone to the building.

The extension brings additional play and learning space for the Nursery, with sliding doors to bring sunlight flooding through the doors to lighten the space. Facilities were extended to include a kitchen area and toilet amenities for the children.

As Orocco extended the property, the garden was transformed with an open plan garden and Astro turf grass to support outdoor learning. New brick work was skilfully integrated into the existing stone walls surrounding the nursery.
