Joinery Workshop Manager

Due to continual growth and increased demand in orders, we are currently seeking an experienced Joinery Workshop manager to join our ambitious team.

We are a high-end joinery manufacturing and interior fit-out company delivering quality projects to the retail, commercial, hospitality and residential sectors throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Duties

  • Management of Joinery workshop
  • Stock allocation and managing of warehouse storage
  • Ensuring that the works and delivery programmes are adhered to
  • Planning production schedules
  • Transport and Logistics
  • Material take off and ordering
  • Quality management
  • Joinery tendering, surveying and pricing quotes
  • Design liaison
  • People and resource management

Requirements

  • Joinery fitting background
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
  • The ability to be self-motivated and work as part of a team
  • Own initiative and enthusiasm
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Excellent time management
  • Excellent attention to detail, quality and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and people skills (telephone and face to face)
  • Good IT skills, Excel and Outlook
  • Full driving licence

Essential

  • Joinery workshop experience of at least 2 years
  • Recognised Joinery qualification

Duties to include:

  • To produce high end quality joinery for the companies main sectors
  • To read and interpret drawings and detail up cutting lists and machine materials
  • To carry out tasks and meet targets in a timely and professional manner
  • To be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Maintain good housekeeping and promote a safe working environment
  • To adhere to the company’s H&S policy and procedures
  • Any other duties within your capabilities allocated by the Workshop Director

This is a full-time role although flexibility is required depending on customer demand and deadlines.

Hours of work:

Monday – Thursday 8.00am – 4.30pm

Friday – 8.00am – 3.30pm

Salary/Package

Negotiable DOE + 28 days holiday (including bank holidays)
